Welcome to Queen of the B Hive! My blog about life, fitness, budgeting, cooking, and most of all faith! I'm Maura and I'm queen of the B's- Bryant, my husband; Brooklynn, my daughter; and Barrett my son. We are just two 20-something parents trying to get it right.
A little about myself, I guess. I'm a 22 year old mother to two adorable children- see above. I had the amazing opportunity to grow up all over the world and the U.S.A. By the time I graduated from High School I had moved 11 times, lived in 2 different countries, lived in 8 different states, traveled to 5 different countries, and I still haven't beaten my record of 3 consecutive years in one place. Are you ready for a truly awkward and horrendous picture straight from the heck of puberty? Here you go, circa 2007 and 12 years old- I'll let you guess which one of this painfully awkward people is me... we aren't holding back anything here!
After I completed my transformation from shy, quirky, awful haired pre-teen to shy, quirky young adult I ventured off to college in the frozen tundra of Idaho. I started school in January, a terrible idea if you have any love for yourself! The day I moved in it was about -6 outside, not fun for walking to classes, that's for sure.

| Yes- I am crazy! It was like -2 outside. I would say excuse the awkward smile, but let's be honest it always looks like that. |
Within a few weeks of school I met this totally awesome guy (after a few duds) who was just as competitive as me and that was it. I was hooked. We dated, we got engaged, and then we got married. On July 27th, 2013 we were married, and sealed for eternity, in the St George Temple. Pure Bliss are the only words that I use to describe that day.
| Our second date was an overnight snow shoeing trip through our school. It was a brave date for both of us, but it was so perfect! |
| Our first "couple" photo, it was very controversial on Facebook! |
| Our Engagement picture. PLEASE ignore the craziness that is my hair and face. That day was literally a NIGHTMARE until he proposed. |
| Look at that awkward smile. See, I told you-its normal. |
| Love. That's it. |
| Our second reception. Is it terrible that I totally regret having an up-do on my wedding day? I wish I had just curled it like this. |
Since our wedding day we have had three years of wedded bliss. Don't get my wrong, crap has happened, but crap happens no matter what. I am so glad that I have had B by my side to wade through the crap together. In the last three years we have sickness, health, joy, sadness, and many many wonderful moments. We have moved 4 times , lived in 3 states, had 2 children, and 1 amazing Central American Adventure together.
But enough about him- let's get back to me! I love life, I love finding the joy in the simple moments and sharing that joy with others. Things that bring me joy: food- what person doesn't get joy from REAL, GOOD, sigh worthy food? If you don't, your missing out; baking- I mean, come on, sugar, flour, and heat, what could go wrong? Nothing, that's what; exercise- since having Barrett the gym has been my salvation. It's the 2 hours a day that I can take for myself and get my body back in the shape it deserves. I have a long way ahead but I am so excited to take it; money, I'm kind of a freak about money. I LOVE budgeting and knowing what my is doing and where my money is going. I've been called cheap but really I'm just frugal and financially aware. I've had lots of questions about my budget and money lately so we will definitely take a look at that ASAP: and faith! I love my faith! I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ( mormon.org ) and it was what makes my life complete.
That's it. That is me in a (long) nutshell. I'm awkward and a little weird. I say what I think and I think a lot. I can't wait for you to join me on this journey in the blog-o-sphere. Here is one more photo, because, why not?
